A Home for Filmmakers
Storm King Theater wants to be a welcoming home for filmmakers and independent film—a place where filmmakers can share their work with an audience, start conversations and experience their film alongside the community.
No Ticket Fee? No Standard Venue Fee.
If you are willing to share your film with our community at no charge, we are willing to host your screening at no standard venue cost when it can be accommodated within our existing cinema setup and does not create additional expenses for our team.
Our cinema seats 50 guests. For larger audiences, we can expand the experience by adding a second screening area in the theater lobby and a third within the restaurant that shares our building. Expanded seating, additional screening areas, custom setups or other arrangements requiring additional labor, equipment or staffing may carry a fee.
Our goal is not to profit from those additions. When a filmmaker is offering their screening to our community for free, we are happy to work with them at cost for any additional setup requirements.
We’re Here to Show Your Work, Not Judge It
We are not looking to judge your art or ask you to submit your film for artistic approval before we agree to show it.
In fact, we welcome the opportunity to experience your film for the first time alongside the rest of our patrons.
We want Storm King Theater to be a place where filmmakers feel comfortable bringing their work, sharing their perspective and connecting directly with an audience.
